Model-Off-Duty: Karmen Pedaru | Sweater + Heels In NYC

Teal Floral Twirl

anthropologie petites floral dress 1

Moulinette Soeurs Baikal dress thanks to Anthropologie (on sale, hemmed 2-3")

Kate Spade licorice heels (similar for less in "gold"), DIY sequin clutch and sash

I hope those who celebrate had a very merry Christmas! I wore this out to Christmas Eve dinner in sunny San Diego (tried to dress it down beforehand with my denim jacket + navy Ferragamo flats ) and it's been nothing but flannel PJs ever since. This is one of my favorite finds all year, and I only wish I got to try it on & post about it before sizes were gone in petites (might still be in a few stores). If you are taller, it's still left in regular sizing online plus I saw a few at local Anthro stores which you can also check with the "find in store" option. It's currently on sale for quite a bit off plus today's promo code, INAFLURRY which gets an extra 25% off sale items.

anthropologie petites floral dress 3

I already did a quick review in a previous post, but the quality of this dress is beautiful in-person (thought it was good for the retail price, but especially great for the current sale price). The material of this dress is a heavier, substantial fabric with a slight sheen to the finish but is not shiny. It's fully lined with metal back zipper, and I loved the attention to detail on the interior too. If this is indicative of typical quality from Moulinette Soeurs (my first time trying the brand) then I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her other styles in the future.

small details: scallop trim on the lining hem and the ribbon on the inside of the outer hem

I'm wearing my usual size (00 petite) which fit decently off the rack and was just a little long for my liking (hit me upper-calf). I know it's intended to be a midi-length style, but I got it hemmed to the knees and found it to be more proportionate on my shorter frame for balancing out the full bottom. The cut of the entire dress is very flattering with a swirly, multi-pieced bodice and skirt that follows body movement fluidly. Please note, tailors usually charge differently to hem regular straight skirts vs circle or fuller skirts, due to more material and/or more difficult curved seams to work with. My tailor charged $25, and I know he's on the low end as far as typical pricing goes.

For styling, as mentioned in an earlier post I thought something at the waistline to break up the large pattern is key. I added my DIY sash to cinch that area (you can also try any sash that came with clothes, neckties, or gifts or use a large ribbon), and grabbed a sparkly sequin clutch made from an old shirt. I'll be posting a few easy DIY accessory projects before the new year, in case you need a little something to jazz up your NYE ensemble!

Twelve Days Of Christmas - #8 Links of London Watch

Greenwich Gold Plated Black Strap Watch, c/o Links of London

I've always been a huge fan of Links of london, so when I was told that they had released some new amazing watches I was itching to get my hands on one!

I chose the all over blac watch with gold detailing as I've wanted a black watch for quite some time now.. and this one is ridiculously perfect, from the font and size of the numbers, to the perfect gold detailing through it.

The boxing is hands down my favourite box of any watch I have seen. When you open it, the mechanism inside is very different to other boxes I have seen and also adds so much value to this and makes it the perfect gift.

I can't wait to finally have a fairly 'high end' ish watch and get really good use out of it.. talk about the perfect Christmas present!

Have you had a look at any of the new Links of London watches?

p.s. have a merry little christmas tomorrow guys! <3

The Winter Floral Two Piece

Crop Top - USC(*)

Midi Skirt - USC(*)

Clutch Bag - Primark (Similar Here)

Boots - Daniel Footwear(*)

It feels like I've steered away from outfit posts for a while now. I get so 'weight conscious' when it comes to uploading outfit posts at the moment on my blog. The blogging world is now full of size 6/8 skinny model like people and it seems to be that not much is 'real' about outfit posting anymore. I'm a size UK 10 and I feel super overweight when it comes to blogging. I know size 10 is nothing to be worried about but that's the reason why I've not put up many outfit posts lately!

I now just think size 10 is nothing to be ashamed of and that people would rather see a realistic weight then me trying to slim down to a size 8! So now back to the outfit...

Crop Top - USC(*)

Midi Skirt - USC(*)

Clutch Bag - Primark (Similar Here)

Boots - Daniel Footwear(*)

I was sent this gorgeous two piece from USC and I absolutely love it. I know two-pieces were more of a summer thing but I think this print is more winter florals! You can pick this up for under £20 too which is a total bargain. I've teamed it up with my favourite black boots from Daniel Footwear and a simple black clutch!

What do you think of this two piece? Would you wear a two piece in winter?

Christmas Perfume Gift Sets from Fragrance Direct (Under £10)

Kylie Minogue Perfume Set - Fragrance Direct(*)

David Beckham Perfume Set - Fragrance Direct

I'm back! It feels so weird to actually have some time to sit at my laptop and blog! It's been about 3 weeks since I've really had time to read blogs, check twitter and of course update fashion-train! Today I handed in my last deadline before christmas and I've been so busy with trying to do 7 uni projects and hand them all in these past few weeks! I'm now home for christmas (yay!) I still have projects to complete but I have a LOT of time to blog!

David Beckham Perfume Set - Fragrance Direct

I started my christmas shopping a few weeks ago and thought why not look online? I've become obsessed with fragrances lately and they're super addictive to buy! I've got my eye on a few Marc Jacobs perfumes at the moment and it doesn't help that Fragrance Direct keep putting them on offer! I picked up this present as an extra gift amongst presents for my boyfriend and I think it's such a good stocking filler!

Kylie Minogue Perfume Set - Fragrance Direct(*)

I decided to treat myself too as these gift sets are so discounted and smell so good! I remember picking up this set a few years ago in Boots and loving the smell! So why not while you're doing the rest of your christmas shopping online have a look at Fragrance Direct?

What do you think of perfume gift sets? What do you have your eye on this christmas?

Home for the Holidays

taupe coat duffel bag

Cassidy weekender bag + Cadena heels thanks to Sole Society, J.Crew Coat , BR shirt

Ann Taylor cropped sweater and necklace , J.Brand jeans, 12mm pearl earrings (similar )

I've been dressing very formulaic lately and this patterned dress shirt + cropped cable sweater pairing has been on heavy rotation. It's a foolproof layered look for work (see my IG pic ) worn with BR ankle pants, and works equally well outside the office with skinny jeans. jcrew lady day coat petites December has been a month of short trips. For packing, I've been liking the classic casual look of this Sole Society Cassidy weekender bag in addition to my usual large tote (either a Longchamp or the Goyard St. Louis). It's also packed up and coming with me to CA where my family and Nick's will be spending our first Christmas all together! I first saw the Cassidy on the stylish Juley T's Instagram and had to find out where it was from. I would personally love to find a leather weekender bag down the road, but the pebbled faux-leather material here feels durable and is also a good option for shoppers who prefer vegan materials.

taupe coat duffel bag 2 I read some complaints about the size being too small, but for fellow light packers I can fit ~2 pairs of shoes, 2 outfits, PJs and toiletries with a little room to spare. The inside is fully lined in a herringbone/chevron print fabric, with a large zippered pockets and two smaller insert pockets. The Cassidy is about 10" x 17" wide, and has a larger sister Lacie at 15" x 19." Both have a removable luggage tag, and removable and adjustable shoulder strap with a reinforcement patch so that a thin strap doesn't dig into your shoulders. I only wish that for a travel bag, the Cassidy would come with metal feet on the bottom (which I just noticed the larger Lacie does have!).

sole society duffle tote

You guys know I'm a big fan of ankle straps on shoes - these Cadena heels reminded me of my beloved J.Crew gold strappy heels but in suede, and the neutral color keeps the strap from being truncating on shorter legs. The style looks sleek on the foot and the suede is good quality in my opinion. Most of my Sole Society heels run small or narrow, but these in my usual size 5 felt true to size and the width was comfy. The Portobello color is a pretty grey taupe, very similar to my coat here in "cobblestone" if you're familiar with that shade. taupe coat duffel bag 1

Thank you to Sole Society for sponsoring this post!

Wishing all of you happy holidays, and safe travels if you'll be on the road!

Nick's last-minute gift guide for men

2014 last minute mens holiday gift guide I convinced my fiance Nick to come out from behind the camera and share a few last-minute gift ideas for the men in our lives (and drop a few blatant hints to help me out)!

Nick: There are only 5 days left until Christmas or, who knows, maybe it's 4. I'm panicking and forgot how to count. If you're like me and thought it was still October, you likely haven't done much gift shopping. This list can help you get a few presents for the men in your life before the 25th. And most of these items are available digitally, can still be shipped in time, or can be found—if you dare enter this time of year— in your local mall.

1. Amazon Prime Subscription - $99 a year for a bunch of movies, TV shows and e-books. And of course, the best part - free 2-day shipping on millions of items. Consider it a gift for him that makes it easier to buy last-minute gifts for her.

2. Cedar Shoe Trees - Ah, the holidays. They smell of fresh pine, mulled spices, and, my personal favorite, damp, dank shoe funk. Tell him you got these cedar shoe trees to help his favorite Cole Haans keep their shape. But you know the truth. Your entryway will thank you.

3. Spotify Premium Subscription or gift card - The upgrade from the basic version makes a great gift unless for some reason he's a huge Taylor Swift fan (she pulled her discography from the service). It's only $0.99 for 3 months, then $9.99 a month after that—still worth it. You get ad-free, offline access to basically all the world's music, and tons of comedy albums too. It's the most-used app on my phone not called Snapchat. (DIY gifting suggestion: write your Spotify gift message on an old blank CD-ROM)

4. Layrite Deluxe Pomade - $15 for hair goop? Haha, no way, why would I need that. I'm barely halfway through this $2 bottle of LA Looks gel from 1999. But, while I'd never buy it myself, if this stuff magically appeared on the bathroom vanity, I'd use it every day—the sign of a perfect stocking stuffer. (You can substitute the preferred hair product of his barber)

5. Leatherman Multi-Purpose Tool - True, he probably already has one. But I like to keep one in the car, one in the toolbox, and one in the…some other place I can't remember, which is precisely why I could use another. And this one comes in black, which means even fixing your lady's broken costume jewelry can be a badass Rambo adventure.

6. Blue Bottle Coffee Subscription - If you know someone who, like me, pretends to prefer shade-grown single-origin Ethopian coffee over Folgers instant, they might enjoy a monthly delivery of beans from Blue Bottle Coffee. You can choose the amount of coffee and the number of months you want it delivered. (DIY gifting suggestion: put a notecard in a mug )

7. Oxo Wooden Spoon Set - Yes, just a spoon. I like cooking and making meals for us. But I'm sick and tired of reading a recipe that says to "stir with a wooden spoon" to which I must reply, "well, this half-melted plastic spatula will do." (Substitute whatever simple cooking item your guy might want, i.e. longer grill tongs so he stops burning off his arm hair)

Behind the lense | Coin a photo

For myself, photography plays an important part in my blog. I wouldn't say I'm particularly an expert by any stretch of the word, but I enjoy looking at photos captured through someone elses lense, and being able to feel the moment or be inspired by the colours, textures etc.. For me photography is incredibly important.

For the last part of this year I am so proud to say I have teamed up with Coin a photo to contribute my own photography (check out my profile here!), as well as a few others bits coming over the next few months (such as helping judge contests etc) The concept is simple. You upload photos to the site and you can 'respect' (which is almost like liking on facebook or instagram' or award someone with a 'coin'.. which in turn can be exchanged for money and other exciting things. It's the first time I've really seen a proper community like this in photography that comes together and you get rewarded for things from other users, and it really is something I've become obsessed with searching through!

Here are just a few of the snaps throughout this year I've posted on the site, and throughout working with these guys I'll be posting a lot of photos that don't get shown here, as when I travel theres sometimes just too many photos to post all at once.. so it's nice to show you guys the photos that get 'left behind'!

I would love if you would let me know if any of you sign up to coin a photo so I can take a little look at the photos! The whole partnership is for launching the new app which is officially available to download now, so if you want to just add photos from your instagram or facebook etc, you can do that too!

They are currently running a competition for the christmas season. Simply grab your phone and capture a 'christmas image' and send it in and you could win $1000 worth of amazon vouchers, click here for more information!

This post is part of my ongoing collaboration with coin a photo
